Menurut Undang-undang No. 10/2004 tentang Pembentukan Peraturan Perundang-undangan, berikut adalah tata urutan sumber-sumber hukum di Republik Indonesia:

  1. Undang-undang Dasar Negara Republik Indonesia Tahun 1945 beserta Amandemennya
  2. Undang-undang / Peraturan Pemerintah Pengganti Undang-undang
  3. Peraturan Pemerintah
  4. Penetapan Presiden
  5. Peraturan Daerah, yang dapat dibagi menjadi: Peraturan Daerah Provinsi (Tingkat I), Peraturan Daerah Kabupaten/Kota (Tingkat II), Peraturan Daerah Desa

  2. Laws / Government Regulations in lieu of Law
